The organic San Polino 2018 Brunello di Montalcino shows ripe, almost syrupy fruit and pressed blackberry over a medium-rich texture. The wine is simple and accessible with moderate depth and distant sweetness. The finish is slightly viscous or heavy. Black cherry, scorched earth and black olive rise from the bouquet of this darkly-colored wine. Tobacco and toasted spice also appear. This is a release of 13,300 bottles.

Certified organic by ICEA . Lustrous ruby. Sour cherry, raspberry, pine and iron hints, but still rather subdued on the nose. Pure and focused on the palate and with proper concentration to it. Great balance and with rustic tannic bite on the finish. Can be approached now, but much more is to come. (WS)
