The 2020 Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Capita is the last rendition of this cuvée that Trapet will produce, because in the future all the domaine's premiers crus will be separated. The swan song vintage derives exclusively from vines trained on "paisseaux" (as the Burgundians call the stakes, known as échalas in other regions, that support each individual vine) and was vinified without any destemming. The resulting wine is striking, soaring from the glass with scents of sweet red berries and plums mingled with orange rind, rose petals and exotic spices. Medium to full-bodied, velvety and seamless, it's deep and complete, with beautifully refined tannins, lively acids and a long, perfumed finish.
