The 2013 Blagny La Pièce Sous La Bois 1er Cru, which was not hailed upon that year, has a perfumed bouquet, quite floral, maybe a little muddled with an underlying saccharine note, possibly due to much chaptalization. The palate is medium-bodied with dried tannins, austere and frankly, very one-dimensional, attenuated finish. This seems poleaxed by the growing season.
