Score 90/100 · Drink 2014-2024, Stephan Reinhardt, Wine Advocate, Oct 2014

The 2012 Sancerre Grands Champs from limestone soils at the very top of Domaine de la Moussière is a more distinguished and subtle red Sancerre with floral and spicy flavors ennobling the morello cherry and sweet black berry aromas. On the palate this full-bodied, silky textured and elegant red is intense and sweet and – thanks to its delicate tannins – has lovely balance and develops a considerable power. The finish is big, sweet and fruit intense but does neither lack finesse nor freshness. There is more elegance and finesse here than in La Moussière but it is more powerful, sweet and perfumed. It’s a question of personal taste, which wine of the two you prefer. I’d give this one a plus due to its finesse and elegance
