Score 90/100 · Drink 2016-2028, Stephan Reinhardt, Wine Advocate, Oct 2015

The pale-golden colored 2013 Pinot Gris Heimbourg, from 28-year-old vines on poor limestone soils, yielded only 14.5 hectoliters per hectare and fermented slowly to a dry, elegant, well balanced and mineral-driven "textbook Pinot Gris," as Olivier Humbrecht puts it. Bottled in March 2015 with 13.5% alcohol and 6.9 grams of residual sugar, the Heimbourg opens with a very precise and complex nose with chalk and lemon zest favors in the background. Lovely, pure, piquant, mineral and still somewhat austere on the palate, this remarkably complex and vital Pinot Gris reveals a certain roundness, and finishes dry, fresh and salty. Very promising.

Wonderful and compelling aromas of dried mango, pineapple and honey. Honeysuckle too. Full body and a very, very persistent finish with ripe fruit and tangy acidity. A phenomenal wine. Made from biodynamically grown grapes. Drink now.
