Score 91/100 · Drink 2020-2030, Stephan Reinhardt, Wine Advocate, Oct 2018

Blending Riesling and Pinot Gris from blue slate, the 2017 Clos du Val d'Éléon offers intense and super ripe fruit with a fine mineral or flinty tone of crushed rocks in the background. Full-bodied and intense on the palate, this is a rich and structured wine with persistent mineral acidity and salinity. Firm and powerful yet elegant and pure, it is impressive yet very young. A great mix that brings together the purity and raciness of Riesling with the substance and texture of the Pinot. Tasted October 2018.
