Score 86/100 · Drink 2023-2026, Neal Martin, Aug 2023

The 2013 Bastor-Lamontagne has a light innocuous bouquet. This feels quite ephemeral. The palate is better with light botrytised fruit, candied orange peel and apricot, just a little smudged towards the finish. This is an easy-drinking Sauternes; honestly, it pales next to vastly improved recent vintages.

Hint of caramelised lemon on the nose but the sulphur dioxide shows too. Not particularly intense and woody on the finish. (JH)

Lime, lemon and cream. Not much botrytic flavour and the sweetness dominates the finish. Slight greenness too. (RH)
