Score 94/100 · Drink 2016-2026, Robert Parker, Mar 2016

As I said in my previous comments on Bevan’s Napa Valley wines, he is at the top of his game, especially with his Cabernet Sauvignons, but what is so remarkable about him is that he actually hits high ground with his Pinot Noirs as well. The 2013 Pinot Noir Petaluma Gap is a Sonoma Coast AVA made from Dijon clones 777, 115 and 838 and aged in a combination of François Frères and Gamba cooperage. With a gorgeous Côtes de Nuits/Vosne-Romanée-like nose of forest floor, spring flowers such as violets, lush black cherry and blackcurrant fruit, the wine is long, lavishly rich, and medium to full-bodied. This velvety textured, lush and complex Pinot Noir should drink well for at least a decade.
