The 2018 Saint-Aubin Les Murgers des Dents de Chien 1er Cru displays another case of "noble reduction" on the nose (indeed, it was very reduced from barrel). Taciturn at first, it opens gradually with aeration, revealing attractive apple-blossom, petrichor and later, blackcurrant leaf scents. The palate is well balanced with lime and orange zest on the entry, a fine-boned Saint-Aubin with well-judged acidity and a lively, lightly-spiced finish. Very fine. Tasted blind at the Burgfest 2018 white tasting.

Aromas of orange oil, pear and praline preface the 2018 Saint-Aubin 1er Cru Les Murgers des Dents de Chien, a medium to full-bodied, fleshy but incisive wine with an open-knit core of ripe fruit but a bright spine of acidity. It was bottled under Diam 5.

The 2018 Saint-Aubin les Murgers des Dents de Chien 1er Cru was muted by the SO2 on the nose when I tasted it from vat. The palate is also a little pinched by the SO2 and as such, I will not judge this for now.
