Score 94/100 · Drink 2021-2035, Joe Czerwinski, Wine Advocate, Aug 2021

Last reviewed more than two years ago, it's reassuring to see how the 2016 First Growth has evolved since then. Lovely cigar-box aromatics join with cassis on the nose, while the medium to full-bodied palate is supple and rich, almost velvety in texture, and the mouthwatering finish lingers a good long time. It should continue to drink well for at least another 15 years.

A regal cabernet with some age that delivers classically styled fruit and a fine, firm tannin framework. Aromas of cassis and red plum, as well as cedar, tobacco and leafy elements. The palate is restrained, yet powerful, with medium body and fresh black and blue fruit. Long and complete. This can age well. Drink or hold. Screw cap.
