The 2017 Savigny-lès-Beaune Village, matured in 30% new oak, has a lilting, pure Pinoté nose, simple but effective and charming. The palate is fresh and crisp, offering red currant and cranberry fruit. Quite structured toward the finish but with good length.

Always a lovely cuvée chez Rouget, and one that flies under the radar, the 2017 Savigny-lès-Beaune Village wafts from the glass with aromas of raspberries, rose petal and sweet spices. On the palate, it's medium to full-bodied, satiny and elegant, with a pretty core of sweet, succulent fruit, framed by melting tannins. An utterly charming Savigny.
