Good dark red. Rather withdrawn aromas of redcurrant and mocha. Offers attractive sweetness and a fine-grained texture to its flavors of redcurrant, plum, spices and leather. Boasts good volume and delicacy, finishing with surprisingly even tannins. Still a bit backward though.

(tasted from cuve ): Good deep red. Aromas of currant and raspberry plus a whiff of flowers. Supple and juicy in the mouth, showing modest nuance to the redcurrant and spice flavors. Faintly minty and herbal but not overly green. Finishes with firm, slightly drying tannins.

The 2013 Beaune Clos de la Feguine was picked on October 7 at 11.6% and 11.9% alcohol, a total of 11 barrels, of which two barrels are new. It was hit by the hail on July 23, so there had to be a lot of selection in the vineyard and on the sorting table. It has an attractive bouquet: clean and fresh with dark cherries and bergamot scents. The palate is showing a little hardness at the moment - quite compact with a sinewy finish. Hopefully, it will gain more flesh by the time of bottling.
