(bottled in March): Pale straw-yellow. Pure, vibrant aromas of lemon and rocky minerality. Densely packed and spicy, conveying a satisfying combination of texture and energy. This wine has the power and spine--and balance--for a graceful evolution in bottle. Wonderfully broad, mouthdusting finish leaves the taste buds quivering.

Very open and charming with honeysuckle flavours and breadth. Finely etched with a hint of quinine. Not trying to be Côte d’Or. (JR)

The 2014 Mâcon La Roche Vineuse Les Cras has a clean, precise bouquet that is very well defined, gently unfolding with grass clipping, dandelion and freshly sliced pear aromas. The palate is very well balanced, precise and tensile with a disarmingly refined dried apricot and lemon zest finish that lingers in the mouth. This is a top wine from Olivier Merlin.
