Produced from 100% Merlot, the wine is soft, medium-bodied, easy-drinking and ready to deliver its sweet, plums with a dash of cocoa as soon as the wine hits the stores. Drink from 2024-2031.

Chocolate orange, blueberries, nutmeg and cherries on the nose. It’s creamy and polished with fine-grained tannins, a medium body and juicy, zesty fruit. This has come through nicely. Drink from 2024.

The 2021 Château de Candale comes from vines not far from Tertre Roteboeuf but slightly more sandy, limestone soils. Ripe cassis and framboise, spicy wood, and some floral notes all define this medium-bodied, elegant, pretty wine, which has some earthy, herbal nuances. It certainly has potential and might be outstanding.

The 2021 de Candale is a forward, racy Saint-Émilion. Juicy dark cherry, mocha, sweet spice, leather, licorice and menthol build effortlessly in the glass. This generous, open-knit Saint-Émilion is a real charmer.
