Black cherries, darker redcurrants, smoky herbs, and violet notes all emerge from the 2021 Châteauneuf Du Pape, a medium-bodied, fresh, nicely focused 2021 offering fine tannins, a nicely balanced mouthfeel, and a good finish. It lacks a touch of mid-palate depth but should keep nicely for 5-7 years.

50% Grenache Blanc, 25% Bourboulenc, 25% Clairette. Vinified and matured in old barriques. Tasted blind. Beguiling nose with stone fruit, makrut lime, marzipan and rich fruits. Well-judged acidity and a wet-wool note on the finish. (AC)
