The 2016 Gevrey-Chambertin Petite Chapelle 1er Cru has quite a spicy bouquet with scents of black pepper infusing the fruit that is darker than those on the Gevrey Vieilles Vignes. The palate is medium-bodied with fleshy ripe tannins, impressive body and grip with raspberry coulis and wild strawberry mixed with orange rind on the finish. Superb, but it needs two to four years in bottle. Tasted at the Domaine.
