Thanisch's 2021 Berncasteler Doctor Riesling Kabinett is intensely aromatic yet still enormously reductive and flinty on the nose that is pretty rich and attractive after all. Savory and saline on the palate, this is a lush, light and crystalline, pretty pure yet promising Kabinett in a classic light style. This is not as complex as you may expect from a Doctor, yet with some years of bottle age, this should turn out as a classic from a very rare cool vintage. 7.5% stated alcohol. Natural cork stopper. Tasted from AP 1422 in December 2022.

Very complex nose of jasmine, honeysuckle, tropical flowers and spices. Stunning elegance on the succulent yet very filigree palate. Wonderful passion-fruit freshness at the very long finish that’s both energetic and polished. Excellent aging potential. Drink or hold.
Vinified in a small stainless steel vat, the 2021 Berncasteler Doctor Riesling Kabinett (Auction) offers a clear, bright and refined yet intense and finely flinty bouquet of perfectly ripe and elegant Riesling aromas. Very delicate and saline on the palate, this is a continuous, pure, finessed and crystalline Doctor with a pristine texture and a very elegant and mineral structured, almost dry-tasting and saline finish, which makes this an excellent Kabinett to pair with food. 7.5% stated alcohol. Natural cork. Tasted at the domaine from AP 8 22 in July 2022.
