Score 93/100 · Drink 2019-2026, William Kelley, Wine Advocate, May 2018

Predominantly Syrah, with splashes of Viognier and Roussanne, the 2015 Dirt Worshipper bursts from the glass with an extravagant bouquet of crushed black fruits, violets and cracked pepper. On the palate, it's rich, full-bodied and youthfully chewy, with an ample core of sapid Syrah fruit and a long, firm finish. If the tannins resolve with a few years in the cellar, my score will look conservative.

Bright violet. A complex, highly perfumed bouquet displays ripe dark berry and cherry qualities that are complicated by suggestions of peppery spices, olive paste and incense. Smooth and broad on the palate, offering concentrated black raspberry, bitter cherry and floral pastille flavors and a suggestion of spicecake. Brawny yet surprisingly lithe, closing with chewy tannins and outstanding, dark-berry-dominated persistence.
