Score 94/100 · Drink 2028-2040, Eric Guido, Vinous, Nov 2025

The 2021 Brunello di Montalcino opens with an enticing mix of crushed red plums, mentholated herbs and cloves. Energetic and fresh yet still potent, it washes across the palate with depths of mineral-enhanced red and black fruits as fine tannins add poise toward the close. Structured yet not severe, the 2021 finishes with a perfumed persona and nuances of spice.

Just mid ruby with watery orange rim. Perfumed sour cherry with hints of stalks on the nose and a suggestion of what looks like oak. On the palate, sour cherry that lacks a little in persistence to balance out the chewy, slightly drying tannins. Could do with a little more proper fruit. (WS)
