Aromas of pineapple, ginger, crushed stone and vanillin, spicy oak. Wonderfully sweet on entry, then stony and tactile in the mid-palate, with penetrating stone fruit and quinine flavors and a very long, palate-dusting back end. This youthfully taut grand cru needs a good five years of patience.

Pale, bright yellow. Sappy aromas of lime, mint, powdered stone, ginger and quinine; smells like a minerally Alsace riesling. Suave on entry, then tactile, spicy and unformed in the middle palate, with extremely unevolved flavors of citrus peel, white peach, spices and crushed rock. Not yet complex but conveys an impression of brooding power. Very long on the back end. Am I underrating this?
