Planted 1937. Tank sample. Mid crimson. Dark-fruited but not open at the moment. Chewy, grippy tannins, so different from the Maison Roche de Bellene reds. A little meaty. I am guessing this has a lot of stems and will need a lot more time to be welcoming. Needs patience. (JH)

The 2019 Vosne-Romanée Les Suchots 1er Cru offers kirsch, touches of cranberry and blood orange and lovely floral tones on the well-defined nose. The palate is balanced with supple tannins and just a little chewiness on the entry, leading to a compact finish that needs a bit of precision and delineation. Not bad, but I hope to see more refinement with age.
