Score 90/100 · Drink 2022-2036, Neal Martin, Nov 2022

The 2018 Meursault Goutte d'Or 1er Cru has a more immediate bouquet than Germain's Bouchères tasted alongside. It immediately delivers engaging citrus peel, nutty and slight fumé-like aromas that are beautifully defined. The palate is well balanced with a sapid entry, fine weight, orange zest, grapefruit and peach touches. This is open for business on the finish, which begs the question what it will have to offer in the future. For now, this is a disarmingly open Meursault that will give much pleasure. Tasted blind at the Burgfest 2018 white tasting.
