Bottled. Bright crimson. Rather more rustic and less expressive on the nose than some other Chalonnaise wines. Almost scratches rather than caresses the palate. Lots of acid and tannin here! Very much a long-term proposition. (JR)

The 2018 Givry A Vigne Rouge 1er Cru has a floral bouquet with rose petal and iris sprinkled over the brambly red fruit. The palate is medium-bodied with grippy tannins, a "solid" Givry with blackberry and raspberry coulis towards the finish that just needs a little more persistence.

Juicy, ripe and deep fruit on the nose with a hint of floral character and perfume. Firm tannins and nice oaking with good pure dark-cherry fruit. Nicely made wine that should offer very nice medium-term drinking. (AC)
