The 2015 Corton Grand Cru feels a little reduced on the nose and lacks the delineation of its peers. Earthy and broody, it is more shade than light. The palate is medium-bodied with chewy tannin. This is chunky for a grand cru , showing slight attenuation toward the finish. I actually prefer some of Château de Meursault's Premier Crus. Tasted blind at the annual Burgfest tasting.

The 2015 Corton Grand Cru is well worth seeking out. The bouquet is well defined here with light floral scents emerging with time, more feminine than I was anticipating. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannin and a crisp line of acidity. I appreciate the focus and texture here - a grand cru not trying to over-achieve and thereby adorned with fine delineation and nuance, the mineralité coming through nicely on the finish. This is a fine Corton, although I am more taken with the Pommards and Beaune premier crus at this early stage.
