The 2021 Vosne-Romanée Les Suchots 1er Cru has a well-defined bouquet with bright red cherry and raspberry fruit, touches of sous-bois and dried rose petals. The oak is nicely integrated, though not overly complex. At the moment, some stems do jut out, though they should be assimilated with time in bottle. The palate is well balanced with fine tannins, fresh and vibrant, with quite a strong marine/Japanese nori influence emanating from the whole cluster that becomes perhaps too prominent on the finish. A Vosne-Romanée that I admire rather than one that delivers the sensuality you expect especially from this site. Tasted blind at the Burgfest tasting.

The 2021 Vosne-Romanée Les Suchots 1er Cru has a perfumed, floral, rose-petal scented bouquet that blossoms in the glass, beautifully-defined with wild strawberry and candied orange peel. Fragrant and alluring. The palate is very well defined with crisp acidity, effervescent with a seam of blood orange running from start to finish and imparting great tension. This is a classy Suchot from Pascal Mugneret.
Another brilliant effort from Mugneret, the 2021 Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru Les Suchots exhibits aromas of orange zest, framboise liqueur, bergamot, exotic spices, vine smoke and plums, followed by a medium to full-bodied, supple and sensual palate that's fleshy, seamless and vibrant, concluding with a long, perfumed finish.
