Aged on the full lees for more than a year and released in May of this year, the 2020 Grüner Veltliner Ried Käferberg 1ÖTW is clear and floral on the intensely fruity but also flinty and herbal nose. Full-bodied, rich and firmly structured on the palate, this is a concentrated but lush and elegant Veltliner with a saline and finely tannic finish. Picked in the third week of October. 13% stated alcohol. Natural cork. Tasted at the domaine in September 2022.

Crystalline rocks, clay marl. Rich aromas of baked meringue, yeast and campfire smoke. Fresh and zesty on the taut palate with a far more delicate spice than the nose suggests. Beautifully balanced. Quiet sophistication with a textured, full-bodied palate. Sophisticated elegance with a preserved-lemon finish. (PS)
