The 2020 Barbaresco Riserva Currà is elegant, delicate and lifted. Crushed red berry fruit, blood orange, spice, mint, kirsch and sweet spice all grace this very pretty, lifted Barbaresco. The Riserva Currà is all elegance, but there is plenty of substance that emerges with air. The 2020 has closed down a bit since last year, which is to be expected.

The 2020 Barbaresco Riserva Currà is a typical wine from this site. Chalk, white pepper and crushed rocks pulse through a core of red/purplish fruit. I very much admire the nerviness here. Macerated cherry, spice, mint and citrus are all amplified. The Riserva Currà is such a harmonious wine that there is barely any perception of tannin.

Restrained, complex and dark. On the nose, it shows graphite, licorice, blood oranges, wild strawberries, dried violets and roses, alongside mint and deep, earthy minerality. Stunning, thanks to density and full body with ripe, velvety tannins and a fresh finish. Integrated, refined and focused. Drink or hold.
