A cabernet sauvignon that shows beautifully now, the softness and polish giving it a creamy, velvety texture that goes on for minutes. It’s medium-bodied and juicy with pretty berries, currants and light cream in the finish. Drink or hold.

The 2020 Tom McDonald is a very intense, ripe Hawke's Bay red reminiscent of a Douro wine in its rich fruit flavors. It's highly concentrated, suggesting low yields. Its core is dense with black fruit flavors, violets and spices derived from lengthy barrel maturation. Its élevage has also rounded its shoulders and smoothed its rich tannins. The 2020 is impressive, ripe and long but lacks some nuance.
