Score 91/100 · Drink 2025-2035, William Kelley, Wine Advocate, Oct 2023

Aromas of pear, mint, white peach, nutmeg and flowers introduce the 2021 Pouilly-Fuissé Hors-Classe Les Ménétrières, a medium to full-bodied, chalky and structured wine that exhibits solid depth despite the hail that afflicted this sector, concluding with a saline, chalky finish.

The 2021 Pouilly-Fuissé Les Ménétrières 1er Cru has a beautiful, expressive bouquet with yellow fruit, white linen and subtle limestone scents, showing fine delineation and beautifully integrated oak (as usual). The palate is well balanced with more weight than Ferret's other cuvées, beautifully balanced with perfectly judged acidity. It fans out on the finish with absolute confidence and should drink well for several years. This wine is a victory in a challenging growing season, though just four barrels were made in this year. Grab what you can.

The 2021 Pouilly-Fuissé Les Ménétrières 1er Cru, reduced to four barrels, has a more leesy bouquet compared to the Tournant de Pouilly. The palate is well balanced with a fine acidic spine, lightly-spiced, good depth with a little more complexity on the finish than the other cuvées. Good potential.
