Score 91-93/100 · Drink 2019-2032, Neal Martin, Wine Advocate, Dec 2017

The 2016 Chevalier Montrachet Grand Cru, which is an exchange of must with Jean-Michel Chartron totaling just one barrel, has a very pretty bouquet with scents of white flowers, orange pith and hazelnut, all well defined and focused, shrugging off the frost that affected the grand cru this vintage. The palate is well balanced with a fine line of acidity, crisp and focused with a beguiling salinity toward the finish. This is always a finely made Chevalier from Alain Chavy and the 2016 is no different, although to be frank, at the moment I need to find more reason to rate it above Chavy's premier crus.
