Seeing one year in barrel and six months in tank, the 2021 Saint-Véran Climat La Bonnode is bottled without filtration. It has a very focused bouquet like the Ovoïde, but a little fuller, with grilled walnut and smoke hints in the background. The palate is well balanced with a slightly tangy entry, quite taut and linear, though it doesn't fully kick on towards the finish like the Ovoïde. Drink over the next six to eight years.

East-facing site. Rich yet tense with a great texture and some kumquat flavour. Interesting! (JR)

The 2021 Saint-Véran Climat La Bonnode, which is raised in both barrel and vat, offers good intensity on the nose with dewy meadow and yellow fruit aromas. The palate is energetic on the entry with lemon and orange zest, quite sharp and tensile towards the finish. Very fine.
