The 2019 Chateau Petit Faurie De Soutard is based on 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc, and it has a juicy, perfumed, incredibly floral style as well as subtle red fruits, notes of sandalwood and dried herbs, medium body, good overall balance, and a great finish. It's more mid-weight than I expected from the barrel sample yet it's a pretty, elegant, seamless wine to enjoy over the coming 10-15 years.

The 2019 Petit Faurie de Soutard opens in the glass with aromas of raspberries and plums mingled with raw cocoa, licorice and a deft touch of new oak. Medium to full-bodied, fleshy and lively, with powdery tannins and a saline finish, this is a fine effort.

The 2019 Petit Faurie de Soutard has a well-defined bouquet of red currant, raspberry preserve and iodine scents. The palate is medium-bodied, taut and fresh, with sappy red berry fruit, fine acidity and a finish that you might call dainty.
