The 2021 Meursault Les Charmes-Dessus 1er Cru, which was difficult to assess out of barrel and not rated, is now flexing its muscles. It has a beguiling bouquet with subtle white flower and white tea traits infusing the citrus fruit. Wonderful definition and the oak is seamlessly integrated. The palate is fresh and vibrant, minerally and harmonious with a more spicy finish that lingers long in the mouth. Excellent. Tasted blind at the Burgfest tasting.

The 2021 Meursault Les Charmes-Dessus 1er Cru comes across as a little primal on the nose, which is difficult to read. The palate is balanced with fine depth, though it does lack a bit of cohesion and feels a bit yeasty on the finish.
