The 2021 Meursault Les Genevrières 1er Cru is much more closed than the Meursault Charmes, and does not quite deliver the terroir expression that I was expecting. The palate is likewise a little simpler and more straightforward than the Charmes. It showcases fine acidity, yet it doesn't quite kick on towards the finish. So-so.

The 2021 Meursault 1er Cru Genevrières (Domaine Louis Jadot) is a very strong performer, bursting with aromas of pear, toasted nuts, white flowers, nutmeg and clear honey. Medium to full-bodied, satiny and seamless, with racy acids and a suave, elegant profile, it's well worth seeking out.
