The 2021 Meursault Blagny 1er Cru has a tightly coiled bouquet that refuses to come out and play. Just a little petrolly at the moment, missing a little mineralité . The palate is fresh and tensile on the entry, a silver thread of acidity keeping this fresh and vibrant. Lightly spiced, like one or two others, just denied some density and weight on the finish by the growing season. Tasted blind at the Burgfest tasting.

The 2021 Meursault Blagny 1er Cru just feels a bit anonymous on the nose - perhaps going through a dumb phase in barrel? The palate is better with hints of apricot and Conference pear, with moderate depth; however, it is missing a bit of complexity and length on the finish. Drink over the next five to seven years.
