The 2019 Volnay 1er Cru Chevret is lovely, unwinding in the glass with scents of cassis, smoke, plums and rose petals. Medium to full-bodied, layered and elegantly muscular, it's more mineral and tightly wound than the charming Clos des Angles. This is a promising proposition for the cellar.

The 2019 Volnay Chevret 1er Cru, matured with 30% whole cluster, has quite a high-toned, iodine-tinged floral bouquet. The palate is sweet and candied on the entry, offering a mélange of red and black fruit and a cashmere-textured finish. Very seductive even at this prenatal stage, and the whole bunch has a crucial role to play here.
