The 2020 Chambolle-Musigny Les Borniques 1er Cru is more opulent and shows more new oak on the nose, though it is well-defined, and the wood will be absorbed with time. There's a sense of panache here. The palate is medium-bodied with sappy red fruit and finely chiseled tannins. This is one of the purest Chambolle wines in purity with a lightly spiced, cohesive, sapid finish. The pick from Hudelot-Baillet. Tasted blind at the Burgfest tasting.

The 2020 Chambolle-Musigny Les Borniques 1er Cru has another intense nose with blackberry, blueberry, crushed limestone and light violet aromas, the oak here nicely integrated. The palate is silky smooth and perhaps the most harmonious of the three Premier Crus, gorgeous sensual, lightly spiced red and blueberry fruit towards the long and tender finish. Oh là là! Recommended.
