(a 2.12 ha monopole with vines averaging 40+ years of age). Here too there are top notes of kirsch and exotic tea to the airier and more elegant aromas of the essence of red and black pinot fruit. The lilting, vibrant and succulent medium-bodied flavors possess a generous mouthfeel while displaying solid length on the bitter pit fruit inflected finale that is firm enough will need most of a decade to resolve the supporting tannins.

The 2023 Vosne-Romanée Clos des Réas 1er Cru has a well-defined bouquet with black cherries, blueberry and violet scents, and better-integrated oak than some of the other cuvées. The palate is medium-bodied with grainy tannins, but there is some lovely fresh red berry fruit here, with white pepper and allspice lingering on the finish. One of the best wines from the domaine in 2023.
