I wonder if the winemaking was a little different here? More oxidative? Extraordinarily rich; a wide spread of sumptuous flavour. A sort of clementine-peel-steeped-in-Darjeeling-tea flavour and texture. Stunning acidity and stunning the way it opened up in the glass over 15 minutes. It has wonderful white-peppery lift and a verticality. Apricots. Cherry stones. Peach stones. So much here. (TC)

The 2023 Chassagne-Montrachet Les Chenevottes 1er Cru has an expressive nose with clementine, dried honey, caramelized pear and touches of chamomile developing in the glass. The palate is balanced with good body, like Chanson's other cuvées. The acidity is well judged, though, like the Beaune Les Bressandes Blanc, I am looking for more tension and mineralité on the finish. This is for early drinking.
