The 2023 Beaune 1er Cru Coucherais is very pretty, exhibiting aromas of sweet red berries, licorice and orange zest, followed by a medium-bodied, saline and mineral palate, concluding with a persistent finish.

The 2023 Beaune Les Coucherias 1er Cru comes from a southerly-exposed plot (according to Labet, the name comes from words for "steep" and "bushes"). Half this plot was replanted in 2020. Another very perfumed bouquet offers raspberry and wild strawberry fruit with wonderful delineation. The palate is medium-bodied with crunchy red fruit, a little compact on the mid-palate, with gentle grip and an easygoing finish. Fine.
