Cask sample. Deep-mid ruby. Raspberry and cassis. Quite intense and concentrated with quite elevated, ripe tannins. Big structure, to last. There is lots of spice and a good, long finish. (MH)

The 2023 Marsannay le Chapitre Rouge was a bit sullen on the nose when I tasted it from barrel, especially in comparison with Pataille's other reds. The palate is medium-bodied with solid tannins, but I find this a little drier on the finish at the moment. Maybe here I might have used less than the 100% whole bunch. I will be prudent with my score for now.
