Score 87-89/100 · Drink 2026-2036, Neal Martin, Nov 2024

The 2023 Chassagne-Montrachet Clos St.-Jean 1er Cru (Rouge) is also raised in 50% in new oak and finished for two months in amphora. This subsumes the new oak better than the Morgeot, thus allowing more of the fruit and terroir to show through. The palate is framed by crunchy red fruit, perhaps just a little green around the edges but at least fresh on the finish. Fine.
