Tasted blind. Deep ruby. Dried cherry fruit, cinnamon and clove on the nose. Initially plump and round on entry with fleshy red fruit. This glossy edge persists but there is enough bite from both tannin and acidity to bring harmony. Fine-grained tannins frame the fruit nicely on this medium-weight wine. Quite long and spicy on the finish. (TP)

100% Merlot. Smells dark and ripe and very Merlot. Chewy and firm but super-polished, making it seem as if it will be accessible in relative youth. Juicy and so packed with fruit but avoiding excess sweetness. (JH)

Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2017 Bellevue offers gorgeous crushed black plums, black cherries and wild blueberries scents with wafts of Indian spices, Marmite toast, fertile loam, potpourri and spice cake. Medium to full-bodied, the palate is rich and concentrated with tons of black and blue fruits and firm, grainy tannins, with gorgeous freshness and a long mineral-laced finish. A beautiful, seductive Bellevue.
