Score 87/100 · Drink 2008, Robert Parker, Aug 1999

The 1995 Barolo Mariondino's medium ruby color is followed by a fragrant nose of dried herbs, tobacco, spice box, and cherry cola. Ripe, with subtle oak, medium to full body, and an expansive, fleshy, open-knit personality, this Barolo can be enjoyed over the next 7-8 years. Moderately saturated medium red. Moderately ripe aromas of cherry and herbs. Smooth in the mouth, with restrained sweetness. Not especially deep or ripe; could use more flesh. A rather backward wine that finishes with a slightly dry edge.
