Score 90/100 · Drink 2015-2022, Monica Larner, Wine Advocate, Sep 2015

The 2011 Sotirio is a pure expression of Sangiovese from one of the least explored and beautiful corners of Tuscany. Compared to Sangiovese made in the well-known appellations like Brunello di Montalcino and Chianti Classico, this pretty wine offers more density and concentration at the back. You really get a sense of the Tuscan sunshine here. Soft tannins wrap thickly over the palate and this expressive wine doles out dark fruit, spice, balsam herbs and moist earth. Overall, this is a soft, round and enduring take on Sangiovese.
