The 2019 Jaspis Spätburgunder 10⁴ is from a parcel with a high-density planting with 10,000 vines per hectare on Oxfordian limestone soils. The purple-colored wine opens with a deep, fresh and refined yet generous bouquet with ripe and intense red and dark berry aromas intermingled with toast and nougat notes. Silky, fresh and chalky on the palate, this is a full-bodied, enormously vital and tensioned Pinot with fine and refreshing tannins and a long, tight and saline finish. Fascinating. 12.5% stated alcohol. Tasted at the domaine in late February 2024.

Officially classified as Landwein Oberrhein (in French: Vin de Pays Haut-Rhin), the 2019 Jaspis Pinot Noir Zipsin opens with a deep, pure, intense, noble and finely toasty bouquet of perfectly ripe and elegant dark fruits—a sublime nose! Full-bodied, wide, intense and elegant on the palate, this is a generous but also clear, refined and refreshing Pinot with vibrant mineral tension and all the finesse Pinot Noir can deliver. The wine is not utterly complex or big but tight, fresh, pure and authentic, with a pure and cleansing finish. On top premier cru level, if you like to taste in a fair blind tasting. 13% stated alcohol. Natural cork. Tasted from lot L 33 21 over 11 days in June 2022.
