RS 173.4 g/l, TA 7.5 g/l. Deep coppery gold. Forward, quite evolved nose with some floral notes. Very juicy with considerable acidity though not the most concentrated fruit. Green fruits and a suggestion of runny honey, and peaches on the finish. (JR)

The 2018 Welschriesling (Trockenbeerenauslese) No 9 Zwischen den Seen fermented very slowly for 14-15 months and has up to 4% alcohol with 375 grams per liter of residual sugar. It is not allowed to be designated as a TBA because it must have at least 5% alcohol, so the wine is officially named Welschriesling No 9. The intensely orange-golden colored wine shows a fascinating, intense yet fine and elegant bouquet with apricot and citrus aromas. On the palate, this is a perfectly rich, round, piquant and persistently salty TBA whose sweetness is beautifully hidden by the salinity, acidity and marvelous precise fruit. White chocolate notes on the aftertaste. This is definitely a highlight of the Kracher legacy. Tasted in February 2021.
