On the nose, the 2018 Chassagne-Montrachet La Boudriotte 1er Cru does not have the delineation of Jadot's Clos de la Chapelle and seems a bit clumsy with the oak at the moment, detracting from its terroir expression. On the entry, the palate is quite rounded with peach and mango notes, moderate acidity, perhaps just missing some tension on the finish. At least there is decent length, but I feel this is more apt for earlier drinking. Tasted blind at the Burgfest 2018 white tasting.

Rich and spicy on the nose. Creamy oak in evidence. On the palate, that same rich creaminess, broad and spicy with just enough freshness. Good fruit depth and a long spicy finish but could do with just a little more zip to be really refreshing. (JH)
