Score 93/100 · Jeb Dunnuck, Aug 2023

The 2021 La Clape Falaise checks in as 60% Syrah, 30% Grenache, and the balance Mourvèdre. It shines in the vintage and has a pure, up-front bouquet of red and blue fruits, peppery herbs, orange blossom, and violets. This carries to a medium to full-bodied red with ultra-fine tannins, beautiful balance, and a great finish.

Full bottle 1,397 g. Syrah, Grenache, Mourvèdre. 12 months in a mix of oak barrels. Remarkably balanced for a 15% wine. Fresh raspberry and red-plum-skin fruit, vanilla-pod spices and some sweet fresh-tarragon herbs. Very gentle tannins. A wine imbued with charm and laid-back supine, irresistibly ripe, velvet fruit and tannins. (TC)
