2015 Volnay Santenots

The 2015 Volnay 1er Cru Les Santenots has a very elegant bouquet with perfumed red cherry and cranberry fruit, not as opulent as others that I have tasted, but perhaps more delineated and refined. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannin, fine backbone, just missing a touch of complexity right on the finish where I would have liked a little more precision. I suspect this will improve in barrel and the finish will manifest more clarity.
